Lebanon PA is so popular - they're even making movies about it. If you've been planning to visit Lebanon, you'll discover that there is a lot more to the small community than meets the eye. Formerly known as Steitztown, Lebanon is a beautiful city that is located directly in the center of the Lebanon Valley, and East of the larger city of Harrisburg. Established in the early 1720s, the city was originally named Steitztown because of the many families that carried the name 'Steitz' that lived along a creek that ran through the city which was appropriately named Streitz Creek.
The name was changed to Lebanon, and the city was incorporated in 1885. It's important to note that, around the early 1900s the city had a population of 17,000, and as of the 2010 census, the population has only grown to 25,477. Although the community is not that large, this wonderful city does have a lot to offer in the way of space, attractions, local businesses, and well-maintained parks. For those not familiar with this area, Lebanon has been made popular with the creation of Weaver's Famous Lebanon Bologna.
There are also many celebrities that have come from this area such as Bobby Gerhart of NASCAR and Dick Shiner a former NFL quarterback, and a few more. Because of the city's popularity, there have been movies filmed in the community, and one has been notably named Lebanon, PA. Although the city enjoys a certain level of popularity for the reasons listed above, there is much more to this wonderful area that will need to be considered if you plan to visit, or if you are planning something along the lines of a real estate investment.
As stated before, this city is quite spacious. There are several different areas that will make excellent places to live for adults with or without children. The public and private school systems are quite unique in the fact that there are plenty to choose from. If you are a student that is planning to go, or you are looking for additional resources when it comes to higher learning, there is the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center, as well as the Harrisburg Community College that is close by.
If you like fishing, hiking, boating, or you simply like to check out historic places, Lebanon, PA will have all of that to offer and much more. There are a number of attractions in this area, and you aren't limited to just one. Whether you like to visit parks for that daily walk, or you like a little recreation in your life, you will be pleased to know all of this can be found in or around the city of Lebanon, PA. If you've been thinking about something a bit more long term such as a real estate investment, you will find that there is a wide range of options available.
Lebanon, PA is a wonderful place to visit or relocate, and you will find that regardless of which of these you plan to do, they will be pleasurable, comforting, and most of all - affordable.
